Adverse Weather Updated Leave Provisions

On Sept. 19, 2018, the Office of State Human Resources (OSHR) released new adverse-weather-related leave provisions for employees affected by Hurricane Florence. Some of the leave provisions apply to all leave-eligible employees of NC State University. Other provisions only apply to those who have incurred damage to their primary residence due to Hurricane Florence or who live in a county that has been declared a disaster.

We have created a Hurricane Florence Adverse Weather page to explain how to implement the new leave provisions, including how to submit, modify or cancel an adverse weather leave request and/or to submit an Other Management Approved Leave (OMAL) leave request.

Action items:

  1. Review the Hurricane Florence Adverse Weather page and the instructions on reporting adverse weather time.
  2. Review the OSHR Additional Leave Provisions and helpful chart to determine which provisions apply to you.
  3. Submit a leave request in WolfTime.
